Snow in Melbourne?
Woke up this morning bright and early (6am) and had the radio on.
Listening to the news I heard that we could possibly be experiencing snow in Melbourne’s more elevated suburbs.
Snow? In Melbourne? Impossible I thought.
I’m still waiting to see if the snow actually does fall.
Must admit, it’d be kinda cool to see our city buildings covered in snow.
The mornings’ weather report mentioned that the weather around the CBD this chilly morning was hovering between 0 Degrees Celcius and 5 Degrees Celcius with a expected top today to be 10 degrees!
I’ll await for this snow. It’ll be interesting if there were any to fall in the CBD, but I doubt there would be much, if any at all (in the CBD).

Oh boy was it cold this morning, absolutely freezing!
Oh most definately!
I was in my office for most of the day and I could feel the cold.
It felt quite cold when I was on my way home today as well (around 6pm).
Maybe it was just the car being left out in the cold all day. Heh, Melbourne and our crazy Melbourne weather :)
Guys,
I’m in Toronto, Canada. Here, during peak winter, 5 deg and 1 deg is balmy weather.
Here freezing means minus 15.
Buy a nice winter jacket with a hood and enjoy the crisp chilly wind.

I live in QLD where it’s a very chilly 11 degrees at the moment :) I’m planning a trip to Sydney in 3 weeks, and I’m praying that the snow sticks around up in the Blue Mountains, because I’ve only touched snow once, and there wasn’t all that much.
I’m not sure if you managed to see any snow?? But do you know of any good photos on the web of the snow in Melbourne?
I found this page through google, and it brought me straight to this story. After commenting I continued to browse your site and found your “original” photo :)
So you can ignore my other comment!! haha
was looking for foto’s on the net off snow in Melbourne, found your blog. Friend of mine lives in Melbourne and was in Holland in 2000 during our elfstedentocht (big skatingevent). temps down to minus 15 with windchillfactor ontop. as Steve in Toronto said, buy heavy clothing and enjoy… You don’t have to travel into the blue mounains now…..

Steve, well, we never get snow in the suburbs around Melbourne, usually we only get snow over in the snow fields a bit further out.
Kel, I’ve never been to the snow myself :P
Eric, Blue Mountains is over in Sydney :)
There are Snowfields in Victoria, one of those is called Mt Buller.
It snowed in the city of Melbourne about 50 years ago.
