Last weekend I got a chance to see the new Stanley Kubrick exhibition down at ACMI. It was pretty cool to see the props and background paraphernalia from Kubrick’s classic movies, such as the outfits from A Clockwork Orange, as well as the notes and scripts Kubrick wrote, showing how detailed and driven he was. Whilst on the way there, I also realised to my surprise that the National Design Centre had opened on the same block; interesting but kind of underwhelming in it’s size. I was expecting a lot more scope and space, but it’s a start.

Whilst about town today I noticed a new outlet opened opposite Flinders Station, a fries and burger outlet called….Lord of the Fries! A name that meant I had to try what they promised to be the “greatest fries”, or thereabouts…and they were indeed very good. Crispy, thin and nicely seasoned, with an interesting variety of toppings for the fries. I went for Belgian Mayo, which was great, especially given that it’s nigh on impossible to get decent mayonnaise anywhere in Melbourne at least….

Do “Lord of the Fries” serve pig’s head on a stick? :-)
