Is Melbourne a scrooge city

According to an article in the Herald Sun today, apparantly, Melbourne is a scrooge city because …
1. Christmas decorations in the city is pathetic (according to some celebrities), compared to other cities such as London, Los Angeles and New York.
2. Melbourians are lacking in Christmas spirit.

What do you say?

Me, I’ll say that the christmas spirit need not translate to outward show in materialistic decorations, but the true spirit of giving is alive and well. We know what is more important.

I agree that Christmas spirit isn’t shown by decking the halls, I mean the streets, with lights and somewhat cheesy ornaments.

Corinna, having lived in Melbourne for six and a half years of my thirty years, I would definately aggree that Melbourne is not even half decorative as other cities, named by yourself, come Chirstmas time..but at the same time I would definately agree with you that Chirstmas is all about given and showing caring towards others especially your loved ones…in which case Melbournians definately diserve a gigantic credit, they are definately are very caring bunch (and I am not exagerating).

But then again I should say that the City Council should atleast spice up the City Centre a bit more than just hang up the lights on trees running up and down Collins Street.

By the way I am Pakistani and living and working in Karachi right now…but did my BBA (Marketing) from RMIT….RMIT and Melbourne rocksss!!!!!!!
