Pay raise … what we all should be asking for

I read somewhere in the past week that top level managers of large corporations are giving themselves pay raise in the vicinity of 5 times the inflation rate?

I imagine, if the company is doing well, then everyone working in that company should benefit from the additional profit.
But I can’t imagine the typical teller sitting at the front of a bank is getting a pay raise of around what, 12%, just like their bosses. If they did, I am sure all of them will be greeting their customers with a large smile and will be extra polite.

In the case of Telstra, one would be hard pushed to determine how it can be making money when it has a loan to pay dividends.

So, if you are ever asked about a pay raise, be sure to mention what the bosses received, around 12% increase.
