Policeman breaking the law?
I was driving home yesterday evening along the Calder Freeway, stuck in traffic (as usual), when a police vehicle slotted in behind me. That was when I realised he was talking on his mobile phone. For the entire duration of around 10 minutes when he was behind me, he was chatting on his phone, driving with the usual mobile user style of one handed steering. And I am sure that it was a personal call because he had a smile pasted on his face the entire time.
I know he is a police officer in a police vehicle, which means he is exempted from the mobile phone use rule, but it does not sit well with me. Its the same as the parking meter inspectors who are allowed to park illegally all the time.

On one hand, the officer should be setting a good example. But on the other, the guy (or girl) goes out every day and risks their lives for very crap pay. If the officer was say stealing something then that would be wrong but just for talking on a mobile phone, thats fine.
