60 minutes of free SkypeOut
For anyone who hasn’t tried out Skype yet, now is your chance. Skype is giving away 60 minutes of free SkypeOut credit to the first 10,000 people to download the new eBay Skype.
Skype is a program that you run on your computer that allows you to call anyone in the world. Skype to Skype calls are free while Skype to phone calls cost money. The Skype out rates are considerably cheaper than long distance companies.

I’ve used Skype for a while both here and in Germany. However, I found that at least when I call a phone in NT (which I used to do a lot), the quality is very bad. However, I never had any problems with calls to Europe.
I’ve tried Skype a couple of times, calling from Japan to various other countries. I agree that the quality isn’t the best for overseas calls, but hey, free is free, right?
Anyway, I don’t know much about all the services Skype offers, but I thought the calls were all free? So what’s with the “60 minutes free” campaign? This seems to imply that there’s a service you have to pay for? What’s included in the paid service???
The “60 minutes free” campaign is 60 minutes of SkypeOut credit, which allows calls to landline phones from a Skype enabled PC anywhere in the world at much cheaper rates than your normal telco carrier. Skype to Skype calls are of course still free.
