Violent game passed in Australia

A minor tremor was felt in the Australian video gaming circuit this week as the violent zombie horror game Dead Rising was given an MA15+ (that’s Mature) rating by the Australian Film and Literature Collection. The game has been refused classification in Germany.

Does Australia need another embarassing notch to her list? First it was the aptly named Southgate debacle, now it’s all the brouhaha over a game that’s no more than fake gore and blood.

Now tell me, how is this worse than the state of free-to-air television these days with the likes of *cough* Big Brother *cough* and atrocious Australian-made serials *cough* Home and Away, Neighbours *cough*.

I reckon OFLC should put a IMA15+ (that’s Immature) rating on Big Brother. How about a LS30+ (that’s Lifespan) for Home & Away and her likes for anyone old enough to remember the numerous cast changes and plots?
