And God said: “Let There Be Light!”

And let there be light! There’re 3 reasons why i love Melbourne. 1) The weather - I love the cold and winter wear. 2) The wonderful people and beautiful women - ok that’s 1.5 reasons. And 3) The quirky stuff you chance upon - things that you’ll never see anywhere else.

Trapped between Elizabeth Street and Swanston Street, Flinders Lane looks like just another small detour for pedastrians and traffic alike. Of course, those were the days before this strange-looking light installation was built in tiny Lingham Lane, just off Flinders Lane.

Step into the glowing smorgasboard of colour and an even stranger audio clip starts playing. I stood there for a good 5 minutes, trying to figure out what it’s trying to preach. It’s hard to make out what the bloke’s saying above the din of the traffic and boisterous Melburnian spirit. I do have a sense it’s about what your life is about (!) and how to make it better (!!).

Scary.

It’s all old news for the foreign Asian students who’ve a language school next door. They step out of class, in a smattering of indecipherable languages - where do they come from anyway haha - walk past the intrigued photographers with nary a blink. Strange how the Aussies end up taking pictures when foreign Asians have a reputation of whipping out them cameras.

And let there be light again!

2 parts good old Melbourne charm + 1 part foreign students + 1 part weird experience = worth a look!
