Hard Rock Cafe

harrock.jpgIt has been years since I have been to a Hard Rock Cafe but I’d figure I should give the Melbourne one a chance. Hard Rock Cafe is a chain of restaurants around the world, which specializes in decorating the walls with Rock ‘n’ Roll memorabilia.

Food: Their grilled chicken is good and their ribs are quite good. The burgers are very small and flavourless especially for $16. Good chips.

Restaurant: They don’t seem to take reservations unless you have a huge group. I waited an hour to get a table on a Saturday night. Get ready to sit at the bar and wait if you go on the weekends. There are a few booths in the restaurant, which have a view of Spring St.

Drinks: They have the usual suspects of beers, wines and soft drinks. Try some of their cocktails with ice cream in it. They are quite good. Prices are average.

Bar: The bar area is shaped in a circle and has small televisions that happened to be showing the rugby at the time. I would sit and have a few after work drinks here.

Is it a good place to meet the opposite sex?
I think there is a good opportunity to talk to people who are forced to wait at the bar until their table is ready.

Is it a good place to have conversation with friends?
Definitely. Music videos are constantly playing but at a normal volume.

How’s the music there? Is it a good place to dance?
The music is from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and it is definitely not a good place to dance.

Can I watch sports there?
Yes, but I would not recommend it. The televisions are very small and not guaranteed to be playing sports.

Check out the Rock ‘n’ Roll memorabilia on the walls. There are some interesting signed guitars from different bands. Thursday night is all you can eat ribs for $32, from 6-9PM.
