Dame Edna, the darling from Moonee Ponds, was honored today in the city. John So presented her with a key to the city while chuckling, “It doesn’t come with free parking!” - She was honoured for putting Melbourne on the map, seeing as she’s a bit of an overseas celebrity - she starred in Alley McBeal, and has taken her shows around the States.
Those other sassy suburbanities Kath and Kim presented her to the media, and Edna said that she’ll be doing a concert run in December. Her manager, Barry Humphries was no where to be seen - she said that he was in the country getting ‘work done.’
