Old school mac
saw this at the apple repair center on flinders street. a working circa 1986 Apple Macintosh Plus toyed around with it for a bit. boy, has it come a long way baby..
what was i doing at the apple repair center? well my macbook started displaying the “random shut down” defect, so i had to go get the logic board replaced. i have to say, when i brought the macbook down for repairs the guy behind the counter was courteous and friendly. he told me that there was a silent revision to the logic board, so i wouldn’t just be getting a replacement part, but a new version of the hardware.
however, when i went to collect it, a different person was manning the counter. and this person was a bit of a dick. i asked him if i got the newer version of the logic board, because there would be no point in replacing it with an equally faulty logic board only to have it need replacing in a few weeks again. he told me rather abrubtly that they only get the part from apple, and they don’t know what it is. so i told him what the initial person told me, and he repeated himself, basically giving me the “customer service” version of fuck off. sheesh.
sorry, i know this isn’t a forum for unsatisfactory customer service, and i hate to over dramatise small stuff, but i’m rather frustrated with the whole thing.
anyway, it was still under warranty. so alls well that ends well i suppose.
