- The Dalai Lama during his 96′ visit to Oz.
It’s been announced that the Dalai Lama will be headin’ over our way in June of next year. On the “Geelong Australia” website (”http://www.geelongaustralia.com.au/Media_Releases/June_2006/His_Holiness_the_Dalai_Lama_to_return_to_Geelong_next_year/”) it says that he will return to Geelong on the 11th of June next year to bless a new Buddhist centre. Apparently, his last visit brought 15,000 people, and his next is expected to pull about 20,000.
This will be his fifth visit to both Australia and New Zealand.

You probably don’t understand/appreciate Buddhism either
True, I don’t know much of either. But last time the Dalai Lama came here many non Buddhists went and listened to him speak. I’m just wondering what the appeal is.
BTW, I also wouldn’t go see the Pope speak either.
I’d go see the Dalai Lama if I ever had a chance.
He’s a funny little man, seriously funny, go.

What makes anyone interesting?
Millions go nuts over Britney Spears, the Germans love David Hasselhoff… what ever rocks your boat I guess.
Personally I find what the Dalai Lama has to say very interesting and consider him to be very wise. Also I am not a Buddhist, but I find a lot of the Buddhist teachings to be useful. Altho I have no plans to give up steak …. mmmm steak.
I found a book of Dianetic’s and the book of mormon
yesterday; my husband threw away the book of mormon.
I’m going see what they actually believe-this’ll be hilarious.
