Know your urban (”)art(”)
Recently I am working on the Grant St Park project (Cnr Dodds and Grant St, next to the Melburnian) (it’s just uni work, it’s nothing real). It is right next to The Australian Centre for Contemporary Art and the sculpture ‘vault’.
What I want to share is some insider (or maybe not) info that maybe not everyone knows.
1. Vault has been moved too many times - first people proposed that it be moved to City Square, but there was many opposition. So it is now where it is.
2. Deputy Lord Mayor of that time once commented on ‘vault’ that ‘It would turn small children blind and would provide a place for sex-perverts to hide.’
3. The black and red ’sculpture’ behind the vault, in front of ACCA is actually a chimney which takes out all the exhausting gas from the underpass of citylink below the site. I guess there is one thing citylink has done well - hiding their bad deeds well.

Vault? Does anyone actually call it that?
Not sure! but this is its name!
I knew it had an official name, but it will always be the Yellow Peril to me …
i had no idea…
i was even there taking photos today!
