Get ready to be BrOwloRED Australia!…

s_med.jpg got this from –

Part of being a Melbournian is having a bit of footie in your life. If it’s not your passion, it will be one for your parents, siblings, mates, boy/girlfriend, etc. Football is Inescapable if you live in this city.
Unfortunetly, for me – it is my Mum. My Dad doesn’t care for the game, but my Mum has a total crush on it.
One of my most harrowing childhood memories is being totally frustrated every ‘one day in September’ – when the Brownlow would be watched for three and a half hours straight. 8 – 11.30. Even though, as a kid (not anymore – sport just doesn’t do it for me) I was an avid Carlton supporter along with my Mum, I still didn’t get the Browlow.
I said to Mum just before, “I feel sad for you because you are watching this – it’s depressing!”
Which Mum turned around and said to me – “On 3AW today everyone was saying they were going to watch it, even though it’s boring, because there’s nothing else on.” – But we have Foxtel! There’s like – 60 something channels for her to pick from!
Anyway – this is pretty much what my night has been like tonight –
“A. William – 3 vote.
J. Mitchell – 2 vote.
T. Mooney – 1 vote.”
Sorry if anyone likes watching this event – just my two cents worth – but I DON’T GET IT!

Its boring to watch and even the players seem bored sitting there going over every game in each round. At least they give them an unlimited supply of alcohol. That said, I don’t have Foxtel and am currently watching it.

    Go Carlton!

Footy. Pfft. I’d rather watch paint dry, crack and peel, and rust than watch what you Aussies call ‘football’.

    Footy. Pfft.

Right, you go enjoy your soccer.

Actually, come to think of it, i do watch footy. Only when there’s nothing else on tv, my broadband connection has died, i’m bored of my dogs and it’s raining outside.

ahhh the brownlow….ahhh the travesty of what they call fashion – hhhahahha

kills me that we have a red carpet gala for the brownlow…interviews et al prior to the walk in AND pple in the stands watching!?!? dear dear me.

once upon a time when neo was at highschool, one of the all time goals of the gals at said school was to go to the brownlow.

needless to say neo was NOT one of those….

oh yeah, it’s for the footy players yeah?
