Kath and Kim to become Americanised?

First, it was Arnotts selling out, then airoplane jelly, now it seems like our ‘lovely ladies’ Kath and Kim may be no longer situated in Fountain Lakes, but in some American suburb.
The husband of Gina Riley, also the executive producer of K&K, Rick McKenna, has said that he is in talks with the man responsible for turning “The Office” into an American show. He told the Sydney Morning Herald that he has been in talks with Ben Silverman since May of 2005. Kath and Kim has been showing on cable in the states since 04′.
Let’s hope this doesn’t happen - I mean - can you IMAGINE Kath and Kim with American accents living in Queens or something? It will TOTALLY ruin the whole point of the show to begin with!

Australia should be proud that the show is being made for the US television market. I mean Australia has been copying US shows for years.

Another Aussie heading to American airwaves is our “favourite” fishermen, Rex Hunt.

Ah, a bit of that “yibbidy-yibbida, that’s all folks”, and a bit of fish kissing :P
