Photography at Southern Cross Station

Southern Cross Station Public service announcement: if you don’t want security guards trailing you, you will register at the security office. You just need some form of photo ID, and you’re generally all set.

Security at Southern Cross are very friendly, and the place to get it all sorted out at, is near the V-Line platform 1, where there’s a yellow painted building. Climb up the staircase to level 1, and turn right (not left, that’s the V-Line staff kitchen), and a security guard will greet you.

Your details will be noted, and you’re automatically granted a “pass” to photograph at the station. Tripods are generally not welcome, especially during rush hour. Flash photography is probably not the best, as it may scare the animalspassengers.
