Car Free Weekend

It’s car free weekend, and have you done your part for it?

Melbourne has many good bike paths, so cycling is a great option. We’ve got Metlink, Yarra Trams, Connex and V-Line (I’m sure I’ve missed a few) that give us excellent train, tram, and bus services. Then there are the ubiquitous feet, we can all use them to walk.

There’s a party later today, at CERES (8 Lee St, East Brunswick), where there’ll be food, games, prizes, and live music. So if the Sunday seems a little slow, consider getting a trip there - its Sunday, so Sunday Saver applies. If you fancy walking, there’s probably even a prize in it for you.

As an FAQ, maybe the organizers will tell us where they stand on using taxis during this weekend. I’m voting on avoiding them.

I didn’t think i’ll see the words excellent, Metlink, Yarra Trams, Connex and V-Line (I’m sure I’ve missed a few) together in the same sentence. But oh well, to each his own.

I will be car-free today as I plan to sit on my couch the whole day.

i placed “Excellent” in italics… if you choose a car-free weekend, getting places short of their services will be a lot harder
