Everybody needs good neighbours
Ok, I’ll admit it. I’m addicted to watching Neighbours. I’m not sure why, the stories are bad, the acting is bad, but I’ll be damned if I have to watch Today Tonight. A big appeal of watching a television show is the development of its characters.
The producers of Neighbours have just introduced 4 new characters to the cast and totally focused the last couple of episodes around them. It was like watching Neighbours from the 80’s, you had no idea who the cast was and what the story was about. There are too many new cast members introduced which gives me the feeling that they will be killing off some old cast members.
Anyone else admit to watching Neighbours and can care to comment?
P.S. Found this cool timeline on the official site.
P.S.S Also if anyone is interested, part of the old set is at the Melbourne Museum.

You’re right, there is something addictive to Neighbours, despite its low quality. But hey, it could be worse - it isn’t HoMe and Away!
I find that Home & Away takes itself too seriously. I remember Ch. 7 promoting “Home and Away, Now available in HDTV”. Great now we can see crap, more clearly.
I suppose we should thank the English for keeping Neighbours and Home & Away on the air.
loving the new characters, it’s good to see the old standards in quality actors being maintained - surely it’s only a matter of time now before Brody Holland does a guest appearance with Bucks and Straunie
“…the stories are bad, the acting is bad…”
That sounds like the same principle that made Full House a smash hit in the states. Did you guys have that show in Aus?
“Cut… It… Out!!!”
Full House was in a cheesy league of its own where its target was kids. Neighbours is more on the lines of “The Young and The Restless” or some cheesy Spanish soap opera. Its entertaining.
Those Spanish soaps are like porn without the nudity… I love it. I have no idea what they are saying, but I could watch it all day.
