Temptation turns nasty….

This morning I was woken to my Mum’s voice off in the distance saying seriously, “I know, I know… how disgusting! It’s in the paper and everything!….Oh, they have to ask him back!” – I had no idea what she was talking to my Aunty about, but I could tell it was something serious.
Well, serious in a pop culture way any how – she was talking about Fridays episode of the channel 9 programme, “Temptation” in which one of the contestants admits she jeopardised the win of contestant Harry so that the other guy, Charles, could win.
In the fast money segment at the end of the show, Charles and Harry were equal on $65. Lainie decided that she wasn’t going to win – seeing as she only had 25 dollars to her name, so she kept on buzzing in after Charles got up to $80 so Harry wouldn’t have a chance to grab the cash.
Lainie has admited that she liked Charles better than Harry, and helped him out by buzzing in, even though she didn’t know any of the answers. The audience wasn’t very happy with the way she acted – according to the Herald Sun people booed her as she left the studio.
Viewers now believe that Harry should be reinstated… I think it’s a pretty cheap shot meself, even though that Harry guy is a bit creepy, (I mean, c’mon – who goes through the courts to change their name to Harry with no last name? ) but if he’s smart enough, he deserves the cash as much as anyone else.

I agree that Harry should be reinstated on Temptation. And Harry is NOT creepy! I am one of many hundreds of fans of Harry’s Trivia in Brisbane – so what if the guy changes his name to make a few bucks – interesting to see that ‘The Tall Poppy Syndrome’ is still alive and well in Australia. The guy deserves a fair go. Sara, Bulimba.

I thought that was going to be bad but cmon Charles managed to buzz in a few times before Lainie did. Harry didn’t. Its a game. Why should Temptation be any different then Survivor or The Mole? A game show is a game show. They both walked away with a load of money and Temptation got some free press. Its a win-win situation for everyone.

BTW, I am only basing this on the clip above. I didn’t see the show.

Nothing worse than bad sportsmanship than being a bad loser! However the tactics were dirty. Channel 9 would have ensured Harry didn’t last much longer anyway, the topics of the questions were clearly slightly different on that night too!

There was nothing wrong with what Lainie did, she was just trying to win the game for herself by answering as many questions right as possible by initiating the questions early. I’m sure she had no idea what the scores were at any stage during the fast money, and the show is all about answering the questions before someone else can buzz in. That’s the way the game goes! :)

Can anyone tell me where Harry Quiz’s are in Brisbane as he is an old friend from London (LEC)
and it would be great to catch up with him and his sister.

The comment by Lisa above is laughable at best, idiotic at worst.

This was conspired behaviour on the part of Lainie to sabotage Harry.

… and has anyone considered why Charles remained suspiciously quiet in those remaining moments?

Harry spoke of a producer’s comments that his answers were ‘too fast’; I believe this was the seed of Charles and Lainies collusion.

This farce immediately reminded me of the movie ‘Quiz Show’.

Eddies stench seems to pervade every nook and cranny of the Nine Studios…

James has had a gutful and by offloading PBL, will rid himself of his dad’s rare error of judgement to put an arrogant, smug and terminally underqualified sports journalist in charge.

    Don’t get me started…

    Peace.
