Lygon Street Festival 2006

hmmm can anyone out there clear this up for me?

on the 14th of october i was on lygon street for this event that blocked off the entire street. despite being “little italy”, it had multicultural food, music and people.

(sorry only managed to get a shot of the completely blocked off street after the event had ended)

now its my understanding that this has to have been the lygon street festival 2006 right? the only reason i have doubts about it is because of a lack of a “web presence”. almost all the websites which do mention the lygon street festival gives it day as “sometime in october”.

this website even states it’s suppose to be on the 27-28th of october!.

so. erm. was it? or was it not.

    It was a bike race (scroll down to the bottom of that page for the details). The festival is a different thing.

    No, I think I got that wrong. According to this, the bike race/street party has taken over the festival.

    I believe they combined the two as the Lygon St. Festival doesn’t seem to do that well financially for anyone.

    There was a waiter’s race which is generally something they do at the festival.
