Another vote grabber

I read in the papers this morning about the lastest attempt to grab more votes. Apparently, the Labor plans to provide $1000 rebate on large water tanks for each household. Just imagine the joy of the managers of those companies selling the water tanks ( the cynical squirt thinks). Any rebate is good for me. I’ll be happier if they include a solar water heater to sweeten the deal.

Of course, this latest attempt is of no effect on house owners who already have water tanks.
What about a solar panel that will generate electricity so I can reduce my contribution to global warming, Mr Bracks?

Imagine having rebates on solar panels… Every house has a solar panel… so much power!!! soon We’ll be generating too much power that we’ll have nothing to use it on… maybe we’ll get a desalinization plant and generate drinking water that way.

Solar panels would be good to have in Australia, with that they’ll be a new use for the sun other than sunbaking. Too bad they’re still so expensive.
