$2 for 1 kg potatoes
No kidding! Saw the price of potatoes in the Vic market this morning. I assumed this is because of the drought we are having. Bananas was $8/kg, potatoes for $2/kg … price of seafood is also sky-rocketing. I read somewhere that cost of food has gone up 9%, but for staples like potatoes … I’ll have to eat more rice now.
Time to turn vegetarian.
Just went to Safeway (Fitzroy):
$3.78 a kilo for potatoes
$11.98 a kilo for bananas
Wow, Safeway rips people off.
