Bond, James Bond

bond.jpgOver the weekend, I saw the latest Bond movie, Casino Royale. I am a big fan of James Bond films and I must say this possibly could be the best one ever. Daniel Craig is the new blond Bond although its not noticeable in the movie.

We all know the famous bonds; Brosnan, Connery, Moore and Dalton. Much forgotten is the only Australian Bond, George Lazenby. Lazenby only managed to play the character in one movie, On her Majesty’s Secret Service. He was in line to star in 7 more Bond films but his manager talked him out of it citing that Bond was not in touch with the times. This was a decision that Lazenby later regretted.

In Casino Royale, the movie and characters were a lot more believable. Bond actually makes a lot of mistakes throughout the movie and a deep emotional side is shown in his character.

hoytsticket.gif Other than that, it was a great movie to see in the Hoyts cinema in Melbourne Central with one caveat. I decided it would be a good idea to book tickets ahead of time, so I jumped on their site and was quite impressed that you could allocate where you wanted to sit in the theatre. Well, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I picked seats that were halfway to the screen on the left hand side. In actuality, my seats were in the very last row in the centre left. I have no idea what would have happen if I picked a seat further back, perhaps I would have sat in the projectionist’s booth.

Go see the movie and if you book online, double check where your seats are when you pick the tickets up. Tonight is Tight Ass Tuesday’s at Hoyts ($9 tickets).
