Joe’s Garage

I spoke about possibly coworking in Melbourne, and today I found a rather interesting place that might be ideal for this.

Mushroom and Spinach Rice Balls Joe’s Garage located at 366, Brunswick Street, has an upstairs room that has power, has tables and some fairly comfy seats. Its easily accessible - take the 112 tram from Collins Street and you’re there. It’s got good coffee. Its got great food. And more importantly, its got usable (i.e. fairly fast) free wireless Internet access!

Consider paying it a visit, for all your WiFi in a cafe needs.

I’m still a bit confused about coworking, what is it?

Check your supermarket dockets as Joe’s usually has buy one get free main meal coupons advertised. Or get the coupon from here for $2 http://www.yourrestaurants.com.au/guide/joes_garage/

have you thought of the type of people you would like to cowork with?

I remember this cafe in Wicker Park, Chicago - gorgeous REAL coffee, little tables and comfy couches and 80% full of coworkers.

Half of them were working on an independent mag and the other half were predominately freelancer designers/illustrators….
