Stage 3 Water Restrictions — Vehicle washing
With Melbourne’s water storage capacity hovering around the 38% level, we are now living under the stage 3 water restrictions.
Doing my bit, my car has not been washed for months. Covered in dust and mud, it gets the occasional wash when it rains. So, I read the description for what is allowed for vehicle washing with interest:
Hand-held hoses and high water-pressure cleaning devices cannot be used to wash vehicles at any time.
A bucket filled directly from a tap may be used to clean windows, mirrors and lights, and spot-remove corrosive substances. Alternatively, a commercial car wash can be used.
So, my question is: If the car registration plate is covered with dust and mud, do I really need to remove it? Mud isn’t really a corrosive substance.
