Ferraris on Lygon
Anyone who ventured to Lygon Street on Saturday got a real treat as Ferraris old and new paraded through the streets. Most people would have guessed as there was no race, that the cars would just cruise in a circuit around the block. Instead, 1 side of the street was open just for the cars with solid metal racing barriers lining the sides of the road to form a track. At each end of the
“track” was an area reinforced with barriers and tyres to turn around. Or in the case of the F1, doing a 180 degree donut.
Within all the cheers and revving cars, a bit of sadness missed by all the local media wa
s present. A few small paper signs were posted on the street remembering Damian Cooper who was killed on Lygon street a little over a month ago. The sign is trying to bring attention for
people to slow down. I would have to agree, in fact I blogged about an accident I witnessed on Lygon street for just this very reason in November.

Hey, it was a great day, I was like a kid in a candy store with all those stunning machines. I’m torn between the F430 and 599 GTB for looks, but the F40 and F50 still get the heart racing too.
I’ve got heaps of photos too, including the pre-Lygon event at Crown and of the F1 car drivven by Marc Gene.

Cheers.
