Trams in limited service this weekend?
Update:
It appears that the trams are running correctly and city services are replaced by a Grand Prix shuttle tram.
Say you were taking the #1 from South Melbourne to Coburg. Your tram would terminate at Southbank Boulevard then you would catch the Grand Prix shuttle tram to Melbourne University. Then catch another #1 tram from Melbourne University north to Coburg.
Only a couple of days ago, I was praising Metlink. It appears that trams will not be going through the city Saturday and Sunday. In addition, some trams won’t even be running at all in some suburbs.
Take for example, Route 1 which goes from Coburg to South Melbourne.
Route 1
Trams travelling from the south will terminate at Southbank Boulevard.Trams travelling from the north will terminate at Queensberry and Swanston Streets.
So does this mean people from Coburg and Brunswick can get into the city but not back? No
All trams seem to be affected by this “temporary tram service change” in which Metlink “suggest that you allow extra time for your journey”.
I guess people who live anywhere other than the CBD will be staying home this weekend. Please correct me if I am misinterpreting this.

I live in Middle Park, which is Gate 1. The trams are all running express down from the city, but bus replacements on the way back.
There’s a huge influx of “local” cars, love the ones with interstate number plates.
