When someone cuts you off in traffic or tailgates you, the usual outcome is the finger or yelling inside your car. Angry drivers, wanting to continue the road rage further now have a forum to out crappy drivers. Ratetheplate lets you enter the offenders licence plate and then enter a complaint against them. The complaints don’t actually go to the police but are for public display. Some interesting stats that the site has collected:

• Most incidents occur around 5PM.
• 54% of the incidents were commited by male drivers (only 18% female).
• The most common incident: Speeding

The comments are quite amusing:

Keep left unless overtaking, learn the road rules you stupid girl. Then
you have the audacity to give me the bird, it’s people like you who
cause accidents, where did you get your licence, a cornflakes box??

And so on….

I’m all for road safety but I’m not sure this site will actually stop people driving like an idiot. In fact, it seems a bit easy for a bunch of people to defame someone.
