Refunding a metcard? Free bus tours…
I’ve been wondering what I can do with a completely unused Metcard, because my retailer seems to not want to refund it. I picked up a 2×10 full fare Zone 1&2 Metcard back in December and was charged $45.20. I no longer have the need to travel to Zone 2, so ideally, I’d like my cash back. Does anyone know of a station that will do that? Or will the Metcard shop/office on Swanston St. sort me out?
Incidentally, I found a rather interesting forum - the Australian Transport Discussion Board. Some rather interesting threads, and who knew there were “bus nerds”? This weekend, there’s a free bus tour some might enjoy going to - going up to the Dandenong Ranges!

Hi Collin,
the free bus tour link doesn’t work.
You can try selling it to a friend who lives in Zone 2. I know HEAPS of friends in campus who do.
Ebay usually works well. *Link fixed Wynn.
You can get a refund at the Met Shop, at the corner of the Melbourne Town Hall. At least, they did a couple of years ago when they phased out the 10 short-trip ticket. If not a refund, they should be able to swap it for other tickets.
If you read down to the last post in the thread, you’ll notice it says, “This trip has been postponed due to lack of interest.”
Sorry, I somehow managed to post that in response to the wrong entry… :-/
Oh no! It was the right entry after all. Move along! Nothing to see here.
LOL.
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the funniest comedian since Dave Hughes, HANNYBANNY.
Ok, I might just have opened another can of worms.
