In AFL & NRL, Melbourne Rules

It puts a smile on my face to see Melbourne (and Victoria) ruling in sports. In 2006, the top 6 AFL positions were taken by interstate teams, so it’s great to see teams that were previously crap topping the AFL ladder.

2006:
Cats - 10th
Hawks - 11th
Bombers - 15th
Magpies - 5th
Kangaroos - 14th

Since when has Geelong been a part of Melbourne?

I suppose I consider Geelong a Melbourne team rather than an interstate team but I have added Victoria for clarity.
