‘Tis a good time to travel to the Land of the Free…

With the Aussie dollar at an all time high, it’s time to change them for greenbacks.

For most International Students, tell your parents to stop wiring/sending money to you as the conversion rate is miserable. Australian dollars eat Asian dollars for breakfast.

Of course, the filthy rich students who live in the city and drive their flash sports cars down Little Bourke Street with a monthly pocket money of A$6,000 (an 18yo Indonesian Chinese acquaintance of mine draws that astronomical sum) need not apply.

    haha…

I believe it’s “Learn to speak and write English well.”

Other than taking a trip to the US, there are a number of other advantages to a high Aussie dollar. Buying things off of Ebay (US), Amazon.com, and various other US merchants is a plus. Investing in the NASDAQ, NYSE or other foreign exchanges could be good. Buying treasury bonds. For most people, its a great time to buy that big hard drive for the computer, Iphone, or other electronic device. Most electronic products are much more expensive in Australia than the US.
