Parking meters

Did people realise the increase in hours for some or most parking meters around Carlton? For example, the ones along Bouverie Street had their hours changed from 7.30 am to 7.30 pm Monday to Saturday. Prior to July, the parking meters were active until 6.30 pm on weekdays and until 12.30 pm on Saturdays.

This just means people shopping at Victoria Market on Saturdays will not be able to enjoy free parking after 12.30 pm and will have to keep track of their time spent in the city. At $1.30 per hour, it might be cheaper now to find alternative parking places that charges a flat rate on weekends.

The weekend train ride is beginning to look more enticing.

Forget the parking meters… have you noticed the number of speed cameras that have been placed around Melbourne. They are way too many now..
