“O’zapft is!” or in English, the keg has been tapped. Even though Oktoberfest is finishing up in Munich, it’s just beginning in Melbourne. I’m always one for themed eating and drinking (Latin Festival, Polish Festival, St. Patrick’s Day) and no other city does it better than us.

As an experienced patron at previous Oktoberfest events at European Bier Cafe, I highly recommend this event. Big steins of beer, decent German type food, and of course some traditional German dancing.

If you want to do the full day Oktoberfest, an event at Dandenong Showgrounds has been set for 3 days at the end of this month. Plenty of music, beer, and entertainment is to be had including big name singers such as Vanesa Amorosi and the Dukes of Windsor.
