I discovered that Phillip Nitschke, the voluntary-euthanasia campaigner, is running as an independant in my electorate! How prestigious.
The OzPolitics test [retty much nailed my voting plans, moreso than the GetUp test; the GetUp test suggested i vote Phillip Nitschke (!), Labor, Democrats, greens, and the rest last. The Ozpolitics one gave me Greens, Democrats, Labor, FF, Liberals, One Nation.
I’m genuinely interested in Nitschke now… i didn’t know his views on non-euthanasia-related issues would be so close to my own, though i guess i shouldn’t be so surprised.
Well election day is here. I went and voted before 9am, just to get it out of the way. All my voting life I’ve voted for one party…..this time I voted for someone else. Sick of the B/S by both the major parties this election campaign. I feel liberated by my choice to “swing vote” this time around.
