Brains on Swanston St., heart in QV

Some 6,000km away from the Melburnian summer heat, my heart is still very much nested somewhere along Swanston Street. I am so homesick that I have, over the past two months (52 days, to be exact – yes, I am keeping count), been actually yearning to hear the thud and clanking of trams rolling down the street.

Anyway, I am once again a local volunteer at the University of Melbourne’s Pre-Departure Briefing scheduled next Saturday, for new students arriving into Melbourne from Singapore this February and March. Pretty much looking forward to meeting fresh faces, I have already made lists on what I ought to let them know about Melburnian life. Sure – it will likely be skewed considering my present state of homesickness, but well… Too bad for them.

Considering my having missed some two months of action, how about helping me out and reminding me of pointers I might have missed out? Or just a general sweeping gist of what I also ought to be telling them. I already have “Read Metroblogging Melbourne” on the list.

Damn. I miss my bicycle.
