6 Reasons to see the Australian Grand Prix
With the threat of the Grand Prix leaving Australia, now is a terrific time to see the Formula 1 this weekend. I bought my Sidetracked tickets on a recommendation/criticism from Brian of Fitzroyalty and am looking forward to seeing my first ever Grand Prix. So why go?
- It’s looking very likely that Melbourne is going to lose the Grand Prix unless it is moved to a night time race, which is unlikely to happen. See it now before we lose it.
- Great weather. Well, not great but at least its not going to rain. 35°C predicted for race day.
- Less crowded. In the last 3 years, crowd numbers have been reduced by 50,000 to 301,000 in 2007. In it’s first year in Melbourne (1996), the GP attracted 401,000 people.
- No traction control. We can only hope this will lead to more driver errors.
- V8s are back. Real racing for many Australians.
- KISS are playing and it is included in the GA ticket.
