They've created a monster and nobody wants to see Brumby no-more, he's like shady with bad policy.

A little Brumby, this is what I'll give ya, a big middle finger, sticking right up at.

We oppose this policy na na na na na na na.

Little does the Melbourne government realise the strength and pure over cockyness power us young clubbing Melbourne socialites have. Not only are the government going to have to put up with protests from EVERY club goer around, they also have to compete with basically everyone in the nightclub, entertainment industry along with all bar owners. Prices will have to change and all sorts of rubbish. Not only are patrons going to be locked out at 2am, DJ's are too. Do you know HOW many young Melbourne kids make their 'pocket' money off spinning tunes? We struggle to hold down 9-5 jobs as we're at uni 9 to 7 most days anyway. People resort to hopsitality jobs and DJ'ing an promoting, JUST to be able to afford lunch.

Brumby is messing with a force I don't think he's quite comprehended. Apart from the aforementioned staff types, he has to deal with Entertainment big wigs like Future entertaiment, who run Summerdayze, the owners of PRince, Boutique etc. Now let's not beat around the bush, this lock out would also greatly affect the Drug scene in Melbourne. I don't think the government has realised jus how much power and money these black market hoodlem rats have. Why not just pay off someone in the lower house? Why not just get Jarrod Moran's nephew to off him while he's at it? Brumby is messing with something far bigger than just 'boozed up teens.'

Yes, we are protesting on the steps Spring St offers us at 5pm on May 30th.
Yes, there will be glowsticks, music they can't shut down coz we're cleverly using the air waves of KISS fm.
Yes, ppl will purposely be GACKED OFF THEIR NUT and drunk and throwing beer bottles and bashing up cops.
They have asked for it.

Not only will this ban put a lot of people like myself out of work, it is going to cause more trouble on the streets. Does Brumby not realise, the wankers fighting drunk on the streets are doing so, because they havent been let into a venue. Now imagine that anger of being 'knocked back' from a club by about times 10000 million time about 100000 thousand people every Thurs, fri, sat and sun nite.

Melbourne is a "liveable city."
You wouldn't shut down London or Berlin. You just wouldn't.
So why even propose this?

It's bullshit.

There is a very serious industry meeting for all promoters, hosts, bar staffs, bussies, DJS, sluts who like sleeping with DJs, and basically anyone with a valid opinion on the matter...
This coming Wed 14th May 7pm at ELECTRIC LADY LAND (funnily enuf right next to where the shooting on Chapel St was HA fu*king HA)

Get behind this. Join all the Facebook groups.

We are also planning to protest at Brumby's house.

Cheers

What shits me is Melbourne's becoming more and more like the oppressive government in Singapore. I left Singapore for that reason alone, but look what I've gotten myself into. Haha. But that's another story.

Coming from a society that doesn't have a binge drinking culture and where drug and daily beer consumption is unheard of, I'll point my stubby fingers at Australia's drug and drinking problem. There's no denying that's the root of ALL the problems stem from the Australian culture of glorifying drunken acts. Those people who play what Australia supposedly call 'football' aggravate matters further when they get involved in high profile rowdy skirmishes with the public. The cause of it? Alcohol. Our young impressionable ones seem to think acting like a fucking turkey just coz *insert football player's name here* does it is the appropriate thing to do.

Also, the low cost of those sweet alcoholic drinks makes it too easy for kids to purchase them. I don't know what it's called coz I don't consume them. I know they're marketed squarely at the teenage market, but who's to complain when it costs only (roughly) $12 for a 4-pack?

Government needs to remove the ills of society before embarking on a band aid solution such as lock out after 2am. Ridiculous. Guess I'm coming home early on weekends now.
