Not the sport played on horseback, but the rolls of peppermint candies. This a strong peppermint flavoured candy, which you have to taste to fully experience its sharpness. I never thought I’ll see them in Australia. And if I do, I know they sell for about $2 for a tube in a specialty candy store in Melbourne. So, imagine my surprise, when I found these in my local reject shop.

So, they’ve been rejected by someone. But I don’t care. At a price of $1 for a pack of six, I will happily indulge myself!

What the hell? Polo in Australia? They’re huge in South East Asia! I grew up on them. Actually funny you mentioned them. I never think about them at all, and never had for all these years. Now that you’ve mentioned them, mmmmm I don’t mind sucking on a few of those hollow mints.

Time to check out the Reject Shop?

Damn… Six packs for a dollar? Count me in! I’m tired of the "strong" mints in our stores here that just aren’t. I think I might need to stockpile a few six packs for the rainy days when they’re gone again. Mighty tip, Squirt! Cheers :)

Polos aren’t that strong really. If anything I think they’re kinda sweet. The Eclipse mints available everywhere is what’s usually in my mouth – they’re strong, tasty and aren’t expensive. I don’t smoke, but even many non-smokers I know complain about how ‘hot’ they are.

Speaking of which, which is that ‘hottest’ or mintiest brand of mints out there? I’ve tried many but Eclipse is still the best I reckon.

Yeah. I bought mine from the Reject store in Watergardens. The specialty candy store in Melbourne Central is still selling them for $2 a tube! But they also sell the stronger mint version of Polo which is (I think) only available from the UK.

I love my polos. Nothing beats it.

Ha! Good old Watergardens! Do you shop there often? I go there every other weekend, just coz it’s a great place for a movie, do the groceries and just be a complete bogan in trackies, unkempt look and oversized tee shirt LOL. No one will ever recognise me there.

EDIT: In hindsight, it’s the West. Unless you’ve got a kevlar vest and value your life, you wouldn’t go to the West.
