Royal Melbourne Show 2006 Opening Day
Hey furry friends, guess where i was on Thursday 21st? Yep, the RMS! How exciting. It was a wonderful day; the weather was amazing and it was packed. I took my chances with the opening day crowd and reckon it wouldn’t be a sardine-packed show what with it being a weekday. Boy was i wrong.
2 annoying tidbits:
1) I need to pinch myself everytime i look at the overpriced items on sale, particularly the food. $15 for a Nando’s combo (burger/pita + small chips + regular Coke)? Cmon…
2) Lack of ATM facilities - with everything being obscenely overpriced, i ran out of cash within 2 hours. And the hunt for an ATM took me 2 hours. And it wasn’t Commonwealth Bank as well. Bloody National Bank. A huge showground with only 3 ATMS. Pfft.
Anyway, here’re some pictures from Day 1 of the show. From the pictures, it’s quite apparent i’m a big city kid. I won’t see enough animals in my lifetime. Ergo animal pictures. Hehe. It was extremely kid-friendly, and though i’m way past the kid age (last i checked haha), i thoroughly enjoyed the day out. Head on down this week guys. It ends this Saturday.
EDIT: The last 3 pictures do not display on the blog. Strange. But they work alright if you click on the thumbnail.
Here’s a really fat cow.
I like sheep. Though they smell, they’re cuddly. Haha.
Now whoever said a cow doesn’t need a hairdryer?
Pigs eating after racing. Haha.
Good crowd, nice weather. What isn’t there to like?
So what’s this huge crowd watching?
Monster truck madness of course!
It’s a father and daughter aerial acrobatics team. Awesome. Fact: The father is 71 years old!
