Croft Institute is all talk and no action. Yeah sure, its interesting to see all of the scientific equipment and such. But that only lasts for maybe a couple of minutes. The bar is very small (I could have reached over and DJed), no beers on tap (from what I remember), and not much of an atmosphere.

Just like a partner, its the looks that attract you at first, but its whats inside that counts.

Croft is cool, oh so melbourne….though I can think of a few cities with old skool uni lab styled bars down stinky chinatown alleys where you have to dodge a Cleanaway bin or three to get to the door - um yeah.

It is intimate, like all good things….good for a bit o hip hop, reggae and d&b - full o substance.

different strokes for different folks I say - worth going to decide for yourself.

The Croft is so overpriced its not funny. $5 beers that run out before 10pm, and then its $5 for Cascade Light stubbies.

Sure, it’s an experience to check it out and all, but surely it’s just a starting venue.

Anyway your picture is of Caledonian Lane, which St Jeromes is on, and the Croft is not. I don’t know if that was on purpose or whatever, but yeah. Other side of Swanston street yo.
