Overheard this morning…

“Get out of the train! This is White Australia!” yelled a (possibly drunk and fare evading) bogan at two Asian ticket inspectors on the Watergardens-bound line.

Best part is, not only did the ticket inspectors ignore him, they didn’t even ask for his ticket.

Well I never. Job well done there guys.

No morning commission I guess.

More bad news for the West

Just when things are quiet, we get a shooting and a machete attack on the same day. A woman was shot by her ex-partner at the Watergardens Railway station during the evening peak hour. With trains arriving every half hour to bring residents home, many were unable to move their vehicles because they were part of the crime scene. Good thing it was a Monday evening. There would have been more people milling around on Thursday and Friday evenings, with the attached Watergardens shopping centre opened til 9 pm.

Earlier in the day, a teenager was attacked with a machete in Copperfield College on their Delahey campus. How a youth can go around carrying a machete baffles my mind, and where in Victoria do you buy a machete?

Just another day.

Loud Shirt Day, not Shirtless Day, or whatever…

<IMAGE REMOVED COURTESY OF THE AGE>

On a day when swopping your staid work clothes for a loud shirt shows your support for the hearing-impaired people, good senior citizens of Melbourne decide to do swop their everyday wear for a commando look.

Clearly, it seems the only way to get anyone in Melbourne to take notice is to go topless. No doubt inspired by our Indian cab drivers several weeks ago, I think it’s about time someone put an end to all the topless shenanigans. It’s funny now, old people going topless, but who gona laugh when there are topless International Students demanding concession tickets and equality with Australian students?? Or topless Sydenham line passengers wanting an extension to Zone 1 stations to Watergardens as Sydenham currently has the least number of Zone 1 stops? How about topless motorists staging a protest against higher fuel prices? Are we gona have a topless protest just coz Mr John Smith isn’t happy?

How about just going completely nude? That’ll make a statement.
